Melody Wilkinson, a Connecticut native, is an artist by nature and is experienced in many mediums from painting to textile art, sculpture and stained glass. All of her face and body paintings are created with water based makeup, by hand, with sponges and brushes, not an airbrush or stencil. When asked why she chose face and body painting as her favorite medium, she says "Painting a human being is a special form of art. The curves, lines and tones of a face or body and the texture of skin are a unique living, breathing canvas. There is an exchange of energy and a transformation… it’s really very beautiful."
Melody began her body art journey as a face painter specializing in children's birthday parties and fairs. She owns and operates an award winning entertainment company, The Face Paint Lady, and uses the initials in the pseudonym FPL Body Art, the more "adult" side of the business.
Melody now lives in Syracuse, NY with her husband, children and many pets.
